Living without money

Written By: Teen Money Expert Stuart Fleming on September 15, 2009

This guy is crazy! Adin van Ryneveld is a South African on a mission… to live 5 YEARS without money.

It’s not a gimmick to receive lots of free stuff (though that would be kinda cool). Instead he’s banking on:

1. A lot of kindness from friends both old and new.
2. Energy exchanges (he’ll do stuff for people, they buy / give him stuff).
3. Sponsorship (his friends with business give him their products / services and he talks about them on his blog and on Facebook).

I don’t think I could do that. I mean, spending money is one of the greatest pleasures in life (I reckon anyway - Ashley disagrees) and if you only deal in exchanges of energy/stuff then how can you take advantage of change-of-season sales at your favourite clothes store?

More importantly, how does Adin intend to survive without a credit card…?!

Perhaps I should interview him. What do you reckon - what shall I ask him?
